The 8.7 mm is a hyper-static, ultralight canyoning rope with a thick sheath built from highly cut- and abrasion-resistant Dyneema fibers over a lightweight core. Water-repellent fibers keep weight low when wet, and the rope floats easily.

This is an expert-level rope. Hyper-static construction means minimal elasticity — it cannot absorb the energy of a fall. Tested according to EN564.

    Shrinkage
    Expect length reduction over time from fiber and construction shrinkage. Shrinkage varies with usage — no standardized test exists for rappel rope shrinkage.

    Note: Not recommended for dry canyons in dry conditions due to the Dyneema sheath. However, testing has shown that rappels up to 50 m on dry rope with a standard figure-8 style device do not generate enough friction heat to damage the rope fibers.
